Yapper: Research-based, AI-powered Language Learning for All

Yapper is an app that differs from the current language learning tools available today, by leveraging AI to best apply the tenets of statistical-based learning from modern linguistic theory.

We’re radically prioritizing listening and speaking in our model with the most common 500 words and syntactic constructions individual to each person, which follows a Zipfian distribution. As well as emphasizing common multi-word units to simplify mastering otherwise totally opaque grammatical concepts. Practicing these essential learnings in a highly tailored socially interactive context AI.

We are using AI to leverage the beautiful unifying features across languages that have been unearthed by great NLP researchers and cognitive scientists in the last decade.
